imagesIt’s been a bad day but I am going to make it better, brighten up your evening with my spiked Lemonade. Ok well its actually not “my” recipe. This is a totally stolen recipe from Bobby Flay.  I tried to mess around with it to make it my own… I did honey simple syrup trying to be so hip, and not use granulated sugar…didnt work. I tried using parsley instead of mint because parsley is sporting the cool vibe right now…. didn’t work. And finally I tried adding a jalapeño diced to really spice it up and, well, …. lets just say it didn’t work. So spike up tonight with Bobby Flay’s spiked lemonade! Peace… Britt

R E C I P E
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice
½ cup of orange juice
4 cups of club soda
Fresh mint
Lemon and orange slices
6 shots of Bourbon

P R E P
Combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar in a sauce pan, bring to a boil and let the sugar dissolve. Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from the heat and chill the mixture. (I like to make the simple syrup mixture in advance, so it is thoroughly chilled before I need to use it).

Combine the simple syrup, fresh lemon and orange juice in a pitcher, and add the lemon and orange slices and fresh mint.

Before serving add 4 cups of club soda.

To spike, add one shot of bourbon to your glass filled with ice, and combine it with the lemonade mixture. This recipe makes approximately 6 drinks.
