Hot dogs are having a celebrated moment. So for Labor Day I decided to open a beer and create some dogs for this celebration. Today I am alone, enjoying a quiet moment in my kitchen. Just me and my camera—concocting flavors—not knowing what the final outcome will be. I pulled out my mandolin and slivered the farm fresh veggies of summer, and boom: something beautiful, magical, and new was happening. The first Dog is smothered in a Smokehouse Cider Slaw I created. For my other creation, I pickled some cucumbers, red onions and peppers from the farmers market. Try these out or create your own… as we bid farewell to summer and all its beautiful memories! Peace…Britt
